What is IPAW?

Invasive Plants of Wisconsin logoThe Invasive Plants Association of Wisconsin (IPAW) is a nonprofit membership-based organization whose mission is to promote better stewardship of the natural resources of Wisconsin by advancing the understanding of invasive plants, preventing their introduction, and encouraging the control of their spread.

IPAW achieves its mission by:

  • Organizing trainings, field days and hands-on workshops to teach about invasive plants
  • Being an advocate of Wisconsin Cooperative Invasive Species Management Areas (CISMAs), who manage invasive species issues on a local level
  • Networking with legislators and decision makers on invasive species concerns
  • Co-hosting the Upper Midwest Invasive Species Conference (UMISC), the largest invasive species conference in North America
  • Educating folks about invasive plant issues through our website, listserve, newsletters, garden shows, symposiums and social media
